Venerate the National Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, pray the Rosary and hear the Message of Fatima at St. Leo the Great: Join us on the feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Wed. August 22, as St. Leo the Great parish, 885 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst, welcomes the national traveling Fatima Statue for the day. We will begin with morning Mass at 8am in the chapel and the statue will be venerated all day in the main church. At 6:30pm there will be recitation of the Holy Rosary and a talk on the Message of Our Lady of Fatima by the statue’s custodian, Mr. Bill Sockey. The statue was blessed by Pope Paul VI in 1967 in honor of the 50th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima. It was entrusted to the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA, headquartered at the Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Washington, NJ.
