God Done Good: Lenten Fish Fry, Stations & Baker Boy Talk

Friday, March 9th St. Leo the Great parish, 885 Sweet Home Rd. in Amherst will hold their Friday Lenten Fish Fry 5-7pm in their new parish center. One “big fish” who won’t be fried is singer/songwriter Bob Halligan, Jr. Over 60 years ago, Bob was adopted through Our Lady of Victory Infant Homes in Lackawanna. He’s since caught a net full of well-known bands and singers who have recorded his songs. (For example; Cher, Michael Bolton and Kathy Mattea) Halligan also leads a boisterous band called Ceili Rain. A trio from that band will attend the fish fry and share a tune or two, then participate in praying the Lenten Stations of the Cross in the main church at 7pm (led by Fr. Bill Quinlivan, featuring PowerPoint images of the marble stations at Our Lady of Victory Basilica) and then give a talk, with music interspersed, to share his journey. GOD DONE GOOD: A ‘JIG’OROUS JOURNEY TO ADOPTION will begin after the Stations of the Cross. A free will offering will be taken. The following night, Ceili Rain will journey to the Buffalo Irish Center for a One Week to St. Patrick’s Day concert featured local Celtic duo Kindred
